Based on the 1944 novel Life and Death of the Wicked Lady Skelton by Magdalen King-Hall, this interpretation follows thrill-seeker Barbara Skelton who is so bored of her mundane and loveless marriage, she begins a double life posing as a highwayman as a means of escape. My designs combine the original silhouette of the late 17th Century with contemporary textile and print approaches, inspired by 1980s New Wave Romanticism.
